2018 Audi Q5 KOMFORT
Audi’s best-selling vehicle has been thoroughly redesigned for the 2018 model year including a move to an updated version of the VW Group’s MLB architecture, which reduced weight by nearly 200 pounds, despite larger dimensions. The Q5 and SQ5 also get revised engines for more power and increased fuel economy.
The 2018 Audi Q5 is powered by a revised turbocharged 2.0-liter TSFI I-4 rated 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque – that’s 32 hp and 15 lb-ft more than before. Power for the SQ5 comes from a new turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 making 354 hp and 369 lb-ft. That’s 23 lb-ft more power than the previous supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine. Both engines are mated to the automaker’s seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
With its 2018 update, the Q5 finally gets the modern exterior styling seen on the Q3 and Q7 crossover including the bold single-frame grille flanked by standard HID headlights and LED daytime running lights. LED headlights are optional. Around back, the Q5 sports LED taillights with dynamic rear turn signals.
Inside, the midsize crossover features premium materials as well as three-zone climate control and an updated MMI infotainment system with rotary and touchpad controls. Audi’s new signature digital virtual cockpit is also now available.
